What is engagement photography? What’s the point?
Engagement photography is a couple photography type in the pre-wedding period. You are not wearing a wedding dress, which is why you can take on a little more fun themes and locations, even go further afield and take photos. The advantage is that you get to know what it is like to be photographed, a little practice for the wedding day, for creative photography.
I, as your photographer, get to know you better as well. I can observe you, so that I can help you dissolve even more, bring your emotions to the surface, observe what works best for you. The only icing on the cake is that it usually involves a surprisingly pleasant afternoon / evening.
The FULL wedding package includes the engagement photoshoot as a gift, for other packages are available as well on request.
What exactly is the difference between an engagement and a creative photoshoot?
Engagement photography is an extra option, a couple photography type, before the big day when you’re still in the engagement period. We take pictures in ordinary clothes. It’s good, because we get to know each other a little bit. You get used to the camera around you and I can see you behaving in front of the camera. Creative photography is also a couple photoshoot that takes place already in a wedding dress on the wedding day, or if a more comfortable or more unique concept requires it, even on a separate day, it’s just a matter of discussion. I especially prefer and support the separate day creative photoshoot, even if it takes extra time. For the sake of separate daily creatives, to encourage joint travel to more special, more distant places, and to reduce the cost to couples, I will not charge extra for any other day’s wedding creatives besides any travel and accommodation costs.
How’s a photoshoot going with you?
We have a little brainstorming, planning on the phone or in person (depending on the type of photography), and then the fun can start! I instruct you, but at the same time I actually manage things so that your stories can unfold on their own. I am open, direct (I also joke a lot) and I always try to create the atmosphere in which you can feel the best. Let's start having fun!
When do you recommend taking maternity photos?
The ideal time for a maternity photo shoot is between the 27-33. week. Then the mothers still can move relatively comfortably and it is not so stressful for the body, and the tummy is also nicely curved by this time. Of course, if You can come only in between the 33-36. week, we will try to solve it. But then it may be riskier (since the date of birth is close), and a little bit more uncomfortable to You. To avoid this, I suggest you don’t leave it to the end, as the goal is to enrich you with a fabulous, joyful occasion and wonderful images.
What is creative photography? When and where should it be?
Creative photography is a couple photography type in a wedding dress. My goal is to be characterized by sincere emotions, cheerfulness and naturalness. It is worth choosing a place where you can listen to each other undisturbed and show your feelings. For example, places close to nature: forests, fields, mountains, waterfront, or even deserted, ruined places.
In terms of lights, the period around sunrise or sunset is best. So, if I photograph in nature, I only work during this period. This means exactly 1 hour before sunset and after sunrise. This varies from month to month, so it’s also worth considering when taking photos.
For family photos, this is a matter of discussion, for weddings, a free hour is required between the ceremony and dinner on the big day, or on a weekday evening or morning during the wedding week.
This does not apply to studio photography, I usually try to solve them in the morning, but here there is more flexibility and more opportunities in the afternoon.
That's how I take photos
How do you describe your style?
Honest, emotional, cheerful, natural, selfless like me.
Since this is my love profession, each photography is a new experience, a new acquaintance and friendship for me. I like and characterize my work mostly the so-called Lifestyle and documentary styles. Lifestyle is a genre that aims to capture portraits of people in real life situations, significant milestones in life. My primary goal as a photographer is to tell stories about people’s lives. Lifestyle is about telling a story and documenting the natural environment of the subjects. I am only instructing and posing in an informal way, which is very different from the known direct and often seemingly unnatural posing that causes uncomfortable feelings. Understandably, I, as a photographer, lead the thread of on-goings, shape the photoshoot activities, and then document the natural human reactions and sincere moments that follow these activities.
What should we wear? What do you suggest?
I like simple clean cuts, earth colors.
Whatever you wear, be comfortable, be able to move around in it, don’t feel tense.
Be in harmony with yourself and the rest of the world.
Less is more, simple is greater!
Anyway, I’m happy to give you advice or you can send me the variations, which clothes You’d love to pick up and I’ll help you choose!
Location and timing
When do you take photos?
Outdoor, I stick to 1-1.5 hours before sunset, or the sunrise. And in the studio, preferably as long as there is natural light.
Do you work in Budapest?
The answer to this is simple: Basically most of the time in and around Budapest, but essentially anywhere you want! I am available for any adventure! I have also traveled to Madagascar and Cuba for photography sessions. I really like it when we travel for a farther, more special destination in the case of a wedding or creative photography, because I know that something different, something newer, more exciting will come out of it. Can we go?
Outdoor, studio, home?
Ootdoor! A forest, a field, a mountain, a valley, an urban, industrial, demolition environment! However, if the venue is suitable for that, I also really like the lifestyle photos I take in Your home. Of the studios, I go to Nordix, Ndustrial, Frame, Zone because they are closest to the style I represent.
What if the weather gets bad, it’s raining?
I’m always flexible with dates on smaller photoshoots, after all, it’s in my best interest as well to make everything as good as possible. At weddings, it is almost basic that we somehow decide to have a plan B! Small clouds, fog, snow, never our enemy, very good pictures can be taken in a little shorter time as well. So photography is postponed only due to rain or stormy winds. We will decide on this before the photos are taken. I also give everyone a “rainday” for such cases. Even so, there have been some people who were more adventurous in this kind of weather as well. I take on the challange. What about you?
Apply
How long do I have to apply before the photoshoot?
I only take a limited number of photoshoots each year. So it is better to apply as soon as possible. Recommended for family photos and branding photos 4-5 weeks before the scheduled date, for weddings 6-12 months in advance.
When will our booking become final?
If you contacted me and received all the information and then you feel I would be right photographer for you, we will set a date and sign an agreement. From now on, you will be included in my calendar and your booking will become final. It is best to check in 4-6 weeks before the photoshoot so I will definitely have a free time for You. For weddings, I suggest you contact me no later than 6 months before the wedding. To secure the dates, I ask for a deposit of HUF 9,000 for small photoshoota and a 30% deposit for weddings.
How can we book for photography?
Here you can write me a message under the CONTACT menu. In addition, of course, I am available on Facebook and Instagram as well, but what is certain and not taken away as information is really the message / email. You may only receive a response within a day or two, however, if it exceeds 5 days, please write me a reminder because Your message may not have reached me or I may be abroad.
Editing and handover
How and when do we get our pictures?
After a small photoshoot, I will create a private gallery within 2 weeks where I will upload the images after a pre-selection. For You here for the first time, You just have to pick Your favorites, and mark with a heart. You have a week for this after the gallery has been handed over, and then if you have the final list, the second half of the handover deadline will start from there, which is another 1 week for small photos and a maximum of 4 weeks for weddings.
Do we get the Raw pictures too?
Under no circumstances do I give raw images to anybody. On the one hand, because I take photos in RAW format, which is a lossless image file, a raw data set, and can only be opened with Photoshop. On the other hand, because my work is my own intellectual product, that is, my art, which includes the making of images and post-production, editing as well. So these two become one final product together.
Can our photos be lost?
A professional photographer does everything he can to keep the chances of this to a minimum. On the wedding day, I work with several professional cameras that also write to 2 memory cards simultaneously. And when I get home, I immediately copy the images to several different repositories, upload a backup to the cloud, and store the data on multiple servers, geo-redundantly. And I will definitely keep and archive the pictures for a minimum of 3 years, so if they are accidentally lost or not found, feel free to ask me!
What do We need to know about the editing process?
All the images I hand over for sorting are edited. You can see my retouching style on the images on my website and social media pages. I don't edit faces too much, I don't thin bodies, I don't make muscles, but I always make sure that you see Yourself in the most beautiful form. (I get rid of acne, child injuries ... etc.)
Other
We are not photogenic, do we have a chance for good pictures?
Interestingly, this is what most people say during their first conversation. No problem, if that’s how You feel, most people don’t really go to photoshoots every day until the wedding, so they feel strange in front of the camera, they don’t know what to do. However, the beauty of an engagement / couple / creative or just a family photo shoot is that we have time in intimacy. These images are beautiful by the fact that invisible bonds between couples and family members appear in the photos. For example, if you’ve asked for a wedding photoshoot, it can help a lot to dispel your fears or practice on your wedding day, and to get to know you better. This way You get used to it much earlier, you won't be a stranger to the camera either. I always try to get the most out of everyone, I strive to open up You and make You feel good.
Can we bring our dog, our kitten?
I love to photograph animals. It is possible to bring a pet outdoors or in most studios, but it should be cleaned and prior consultation is required.
You also need to take care of your own blanket for studio photography.
Is a make-up artist or hairdresser absolutely necessary? Can you recommend professionals?
Not necessarily, but I personally recommend their help, mainly because then You will be much more confident and this will make the pictures more successful. Of course I can recommend colleagues.
